Today's entry comes from Abigail, for expediency sake I am doing the typing for her, but the words are all hers. Our Uncle John preached at church on Sunday for us last weekend. He told a story that made a lasting impression on her and she wanted to share it here.
The Rag Man
Once there was a rag man who saw a lady crying on her front porch. He said "let me have your cloth and I'll get you a new one" ( that she was crying into) so the lady gave it to him and the rag man started to cry. Then he came to a different house where a man was bleeding down his cheek and crying. The rag man said " let me have your cloth and I will give you a new one". So the man did and stopped crying and bleeding but the rag man started crying and bleeding. Then he came to a different house and saw a man by a pole and he asked him "are you working?" the man said "no, I have only one arm I cant work." the rag man said "let me have your shirt" When the man put the new shirt on, he realized he had an arm! When the rag man put the mans shirt on that he had taken, he then had no arm. Then the rag man came to a lake and saw a man sitting there who couldn't walk very good and had dirty clothes. so the rag man gave him new clothes. Suddenly the man could walk. The rag man put the mans clothes on and now had only one arm to push his cart with and couldn't walk good to push the cart. Then the rag man put all of the "stuff" (items he had gathered from people) into the dumpster, then he died there in the dumpster. But then the next day he was alive again because he was Jesus who had helped all of those people!
Now, when the original version of this story was told in church, I was dealing with 3 seperate wiggly or crying or fussy children while miss Abigail was listening intently. I plan to ask Uncle John to tell me the extended version so look for "the rag man" part II coming soon.
Even if some of the story doesn't flow right now, How very blessed am I to have Abigail WANT to tell me, share the story and be impressed by it's message.
She is AMAZING! and poised and asks me constantly lately " how can I help you momma?"
I am SOOOOO Blessed!
